Dear Mom,
You are one of the strongest women I know. I was looking at my daughter (OMG, yes, I have a daughter 😳) and she has my arms and legs! My exact same strong, muscular, powerful, sensational arms and body. I don't know how I would react if she has to go through what I've gone through since I was a 15 year old and even to this day.
I've been called man because I appeared outwardly strong. It has been said that that I use drugs (No, I have always had far too much integrity to behave dishonestly in order to gain an advantage). It has been said I don't belong in Women's sports -- that I belong in Men's -- because I look stronger than many other women do. (No, I just work hard and I was born with this badass body and proud of it).
But mom, I'm not sure how you did not go off on every single reporter, person, announcer and quite frankly, hater, who was too ignorant to understand the power of a black woman.
I am proud we were able to show them what some women look like. We don't all look the same. We are curvy, strong, muscular, tall, small, just to name a few, and all the same: we are women and proud!
You are so classy, I only wish I could take your lead. I am trying, though, and God is not done with me yet. I have a LONG way to go, but thank you.
Thank you for being the role model I needed to endure all the hardships that I now regard as a challenges--ones that I enjoy. I hope to teach my baby Alexis Olympia the same, and have the same fortitude you have had.

Nigerian-British boxing champion, Anthony Joshua has disclosed his two biggest threats in the heavyweight boxing division.

The reigning heavyweight champion told Skysport during an interview that Kubrat Pulev – his next challenger, and Deontay Wilder are the biggest threats to his current rank.

"My biggest threat is two people. My next challenger, Kubrat Pulev, because if I make one slip-up it all goes wrong", Joshua said.

"Loads of experience, really good jab, he's always kept himself at world title level. He's very talented, in that sense.”

Mel B loses bid to have records in divorce case sealed


A judge in Los Angeles has denied a request by Mel B to seal all records in her divorce and restraining order cases and keep the courtroom closed, TMZ reports.

The website had previously claimed the former Spice Girl wanted the proceedings kept secret because she's worried her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte will expose explicit sex tapes as evidence.


Mel B argued that she doesn't want her children to find out about the tapes but the judge ruled that 'salacious details' are not sufficient reason to seal a case, according to TMZ.
However, anything directly relating to the couple's children such as visitation schedules will not be revealed in open court.

Being curious on his course of study and his projects, I asked why he isn't doing anything related to his course and he immediately brought out his laptop opening through numerous folders showing some simulations, CAD diagrams and some technical details on the drone his company is working on.

I asked if he is going to manufacture all these parts himself and how viable is his vision of producing an unmanned aerial vehicle of such standard here locally and he said:
"I'm purchasing the engine and am having a transfer of technology to be able to locally produce a ground control system. You see this folders (points at some folders in his laptop) they are filled with technical details on most communications aspects. Those are things am capable of doing with the help of a great team." 
He said I just need some funding and trust me everyone will be shocked to this in Nigeria. Basically, I just want you to know that all components are being covered by my patents, my designs, circuit and whatever. I made sure all inventions in all of my products are being covered with patents. 

Being curious on how he has been able to fund his projects to this level, he replied in confidence again, "I have a company generating revenue so I'm able to do something from my sales while also building up a brand."

He belongs to some foreign organizations and currently working on. His company is a revenue generating company, has overt 400 units of his products used by consumers in foreign countries such as USA, Germany and Pakistan.
I am a PhD holder in electronics and telecommunication and I envy this guy. Few minutes with him shows his level of intelligence and am not surprised as he schooled in a foreign country.

IPOB crisis ‘bigger than Boko Haram’-Shettima


Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has said the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB crisis being spearheaded by Nnamdi Kanu is bigger than the activities of the deadly terrorist group Boko Haram

No fewer than 20, 000 people are believed to have been killed by Boko Haram since the Islamist sect started its attacks about eight years ago.


According to The Nation,speaking in Owerri on Monday night during a meeting with Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, when he led a truce team of North’s governors to the state, Shettima said the threats posed by the Nnamdi Kanu-led secessionist IPOB to the nation’s survival are far bigger than those posed by Boko Haram.

He said it was for this reason that he had to leave the killings going on in his state behind to join Governor Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto) Simon Lalong (Platueau) Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina) and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), on visits to Abia, Rivers and Imo, seeking peace.

“Only this morning, 25 people were killed in my state via explosions carried out by three suicide bombers, but I have to be on this mission because of what it means to the nation,” he said
He said: “What we wanted to forestall actually was a mass movement of Nigerians from one part of the country to another. It was a very dangerous signal.
“We equally invite our brothers from the South East to visit some of the northern flash points like Kaduna, Kano and Jos, and together we can talk to our Igbo brothers and sisters there to assure them of the safety of their lives and properties.
“Make or break, this country belongs to all of us. The population of Syria is a paltry 22 million. Only 2 million Syrian refugees are knocking on the doors of Europe and it is causing reverberation. How then do you perceive a situation where 35 million English-speaking Nigerians are knocking on the doors of Europe?
“That is why we have a moral obligation as stakeholders to make things work in this country. We are all part of the leadership challenges we are facing in this country, and none of us can exonerate him or herself from blame.
“Like I said earlier in Aba, the hope of the black man rests not with the hard-thinking South Africans or the obsequious Kenyans who are struggling to be more white than the white men, but with the people of this country.
“If you see an African walking on the streets of London and would not leave the way obsequiously for the white man to pass, you don’t need a soothsayer to tell you that that black man is a Nigerian.
“If we allow this country to implode, up is the Sahara Desert, Niger is already a failed state. The population of Niger is only 11 million while Kano has a population of about 30 million. We can eat up the entire food reserve of Niger Republic within a week.
“Down is the Atlantic Ocean and the tiny countries of Benin Republic, Togo and Senegal. Maybe some of us will migrate to Gambia. The entire food reserves of those tiny West African countries can be exhausted within two weeks.”

Shettima thanked Governor Okorocha for the warm reception he accorded the delegation, saying that they were in the state principally as a delegation of Northern Nigeria governors’ forum to identify with the uncommon leadership exhibited by the governors of the South East sub-region in these trying moments of the nation’s contemporary political history.

Senator Dino Melaye’s Recall Timetable Released By INEC (See Photos)


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) today released an amended timetable and schedule of activities for the recall of Senator Dino Melaye, who represents the Kogi West Senatorial District.

According a statement signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu, the verification notice to kickstart the exercise will be issued on 3rd October. The last day for observers to submit their applications is 5th October, while the published list of accredited observes will be released on 9th October.

A stakeholder’s meeting at both the senatorial and local government headquarters will hold on 10th October, while 12th October is the last day for the submission of names of polling agents by the member sought to be recalled and the representatives of the petitioners. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the actual verification will be conducted on 14th October.

Mrs. Ogakwu noted that in fixing the timeline for the verification, sufficient time has been provided for the Senator to study the petition and accompanying materials, in order to effectively prepare for the verification exercise, in accordance with the order of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

It will be recalled that some registered voters from the Kogi West Senatorial District had approached the Commission on 21st June, 2017 and submitted a petition to initiate the process of recalling the Senator representing their district. After formally acknowledging receipt of the petition, and relying on Sections 69 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and Section 116 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), the Commission announced the timetable and schedule of activities for the recall of the Senator on 3rd July. The first activity in the schedule, slated for 10th July, was the release of detailed guidelines for the recall, starting with the pasting of the Notice of Verification at the Kogi West Constituency (INEC Office in Lokoja).



But on the same 10th July, the Commission received an order given by the Federal High Court, Abuja and dated 6th July, directing the “parties to maintain the status quo till the determination of the plaintiff’s motion on notice” in respect of the suit filed by the concerned senator, seeking orders of injunction against the Commission to stop it from acting on the petition by the registered voters of Kogi West Senatorial District.



The Judge, in granting the relief sought by the Senator, also fixed 29th September 2017 as the date to hear the motion on notice. However, the 90-day framework established by the Constitution for the entire process to be completed would have elapsed.



Having realised that the court order and its implications would negatively affect its ability to carry out its constitutional mandate, the Commission took immediate steps to vacate the court order and for the matter to be heard and determined expeditiously, while staying action on the process in compliance with the court order. Judgment in the suit was delivered on 11th September 2017, clearing all legal hurdles.

Nigerian Customs uncovers another container of 475 arms in Apapa


The Tin Can Island Command of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Tuesday uncovered a container suspected to contain yet another cache of arms imported from Turkey.

This is coming barely a week after the command intercepted a 20-foot container laden with 1,100 pump action rifles.


The container with number, CMAU189817/8 is believed to contain about 475 sets of pump-action riffles reportedly belonging to the same importer of the last one.

Daily Sun quoted a source as saying

“The container is owned by the same importer of the 1,100 guns. After a detailed profiling of the importer ordered by the Area Controller, it was discovered that he still has another container inside the port.
“So, officers were asked to fish out the container for examination. But I don’t know why they are hiding the identity of the importer”, the source hinted.
When contacted, the National Public Relations Officer of the service, Joseph Attah, said a container was suspected and it has not been examined to know what is inside.
“Let’s not speculate about arms, please. A container is being suspected and examination will reveal whatever is inside,” he pleaded.
Recall that just last week ago, operatives of the Tin-Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, busted a syndicate that smuggled weapons into the country.

No fewer than 1,100 pump action rifles were loaded in the 20 foot container the gang shipped in.

Nigerian Airforce Joins Operation Python Dance


The Nigerian Air Force has joined the Operation Python Dance II campaign in the Southeast by deploying its air assets in support of the ground troops.

The NAF said the deployment of the air assets was not only based on the request of the Nigerian Army for air support but inevitable due to the wide expanse of the exercise area.

A statement on Tuesday night by the Director of Information and Public Relations of the NAF, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, said “the essence of the deployment is to provide the necessary air cover to the ground troops to enhance overall operational cohesion and efficiency.


The statement supported with video footage showed two Alpha Jet Aircrafts on aerial surveillance of the coverage area.

“I was mostly in a daze, wondering what to do next,” she said. “I’d thought being Miss Nigeria was the best thing that could happen to me. And that dream was gone, and with it, all the great things I could have done or become.”
But she didn’t let that experience kill her spirit. Three years later, she started blogging and today is successful.

2. She once sold beer at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos

At the age of 19, Ikeji was already dedicated to making a living for herself, and so she resorted to selling/promoting Corona beer at Sheraton hotel, Ikeja. A job that required her to sometimes stand from 2pm to 10pm everyday, for a month.
“[I tried to] convince people to buy the beer cos that was how I got a commission. 1k per day…lol. It was so hard back in the day,” she revealed in an Instagram post. “I hustled so hard. Many didn’t see it but The One who mattered the most saw me and when He was ready to bless me, He took my breath away. God has been awesome.”

3. She wanted to become a TV presenter

Even though she had gone through the rigours of selling beer, and also failing to impress at a beauty contest, Ikeji yearned to become a TV presenter. But she failed to get that opportunity.
Well, here she is today. “I wanted to be a reporter or a TV presenter… now I employ reporters and TV presenters..,” she said in August. “Instead of working at a TV station, I’m about to own one. God has a way of doing His thing. Just trust him and never depart from him as you go on your journey. And remember, you just can’t beat the person who never gives up.”

4. She is ready to move out of her Banana Island mansion for marriage

In her 2016 interview with Nation, she said she is single not because there are no men around, but because she is yet to find one who is worthy. However, when she eventually finds that lucky, worthy man, she would move out of have N500m mansion and into his home.

5. She still shows love to her arch enemies

Kemi Olunloyo famously started a one-sided war with the blogger, defamed her character on social media, and orchestrated the rumour that former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki plunged an incredulous amount into the blogger’s Banana Island home.

13 political parties plan merger


A total of 13 registered political parties in the country have agreed to collapse into one mega party to be known as Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the interim national chairman of the proposed party, Dr. Onwunbuya Breakforth, has said.

Briefing newsmen yesterday, in Abuja, Breakforth said the merger was coming as a result of the ‘failure’ of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rescue Nigerians from the various challenges bedeviling the nation.

He, however, declined to mention the names of the parties, saying their names would be made public when INEC announced the registration of the new party.

“This movement has been consulting with different political parties and 13 of them have agreed to come together and merge as one mega party. It’s a merger not alliance. We are going to merge like the ACN, CPC, ANPP, New PDP and part of APGA merged to become APC and seized power in 2015.

“We have approached INEC for registration of the 13 parties as Freedom and Justice Party and the commission has already approved the name and our logo. We have met all the requirements and INEC has 30 days by law to do this.

“The arrangement is that each of the 13 political parties will organize a national convention and the decision to collapse into the mega party would be taken at the convention which remains the highest decision-making body of all political parties in Nigeria.

“Our decision to merge is premised on the fact that there is no need having too many political parties that cannot win elections. So we are forming a merger that is bigger than that of the APC.

“Our plan is that after 2019, there will be no more PDP or APC because the APC is a party with a head but without body, while the PDP has body without a head,” he said.

He claimed that Nigeria’s exit from recession as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently was a “paper work aimed at deceiving Nigerians”, saying that it has no effect on the poor man on the street.
